Resilience Level of the Family Caregivers of the Elderly in Mashhad, Iran During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Background & Aims Resilience is defined as a person’s ability to maintain psychological balance and recover from challenging conditions. Due the very important role of family caregivers in treatment older patients with COVID-19, attention their health well-being has been increased. This study aims determine resilience level people during COVID-19 pandemic Mashahd, Iran. Materials Methods descriptive-analytical was conducted on 120 who referred urban centers Mashhad, Sampling done using cluster random sampling method April June 2022. The instrument two-part questionnaire included demographic form (surveying age elderly caregiver, gender educational employment status marital relation caregiver elderly) Connor-Davidson scale. Data analysis SPSS v.23 software descriptive inferential statistics. Results mean were 39.94±1.32 74.44±3.17 years, respectively. ranged 20-74 years 60-89 years. score 49.40±13.07, which low. There significant relationship between (P<0.05), (P<0.001) (P<0.05). correlation caregiver’s (r=0.17) elderly’s (r=0.13) positive, but weak. Conclusion Family Mashhad city have low resilience. Their level, status, are related level. Attention these factors can help care providers develop plans for increasing improving quality life elderly.
